Design Forward Summit 2017 is coming up fast in October! As mountaineers will tell you, you need to do some prep at base camp before you attempt a summit.
Join us Wednesday, September 27 at WeWork B Street as we gear up Design Advocates* who will be facilitating discussions during the Design Forward Summit. Led by local design professionals and leaders we will share our favorite processes, techniques, and tools. We’ll also discuss how best to communicate the value of design to non-designers.
Already registered for Design Forward Summit 2017 as a Design Advocate? It is important you attend this event. We’ll share details about what you’ll do at the Summit and give you frameworks and references you can use.
Considering being a Design Advocate? Come and be prepared to be convinced to sign up for advocate duty!
Not quite ready for duty? Show up anyway. This is a rare chance to learn from some of the best and most accomplished local practitioners.
We'll have food courtesy of Chipotle Mexican Grill and beverages courtesy of Ballast Point Brewing.
Agenda:
6:00-7:00 pm Socializing and networking
7:00-8:00 pm Sharing and brainstorming
8:00-8:30 pm Socializing and networking
What’s a Design Advocate?
At the Design Forward Summit 2017, during lunch, designated Design Advocates will be stationed at different tables. Each table will be dedicated to a particular industry, product, service, or interest (e.g., biotech, startups, AI, VR/AR, gaming, etc.). Summit attendees will choose whichever table grabs their interest, have a seat, eat, and discuss. Design Advocates will facilitate discussion amongst table-mates about how human-centered design and design thinking can help people and organizations succeed in the area of interest. Design Advocates don’t need to do elaborate presentations; we just need you to get the discussion ball rolling and then keep that momentum going as your table dives into the topic.
What’s in it for you?
A special discounted rate to the Summit. Other than lunch time, you are free to attend all sessions as a regular attendee! Easy, right? Please note that there are a limited number of Design Advocate slots and you must be comfortable driving the conversations at your table.
